Thanks to your help, the YWCA is able to make a larger impact helping families and women throughout the Niagara region. All of your love and hard work helps us to better serve the community and makes a significant impact on our clients and staff. Whether you volunteered at bingo, prepared meals, or a special event, from the bottom of our hearts, the YWCA family thanks you for all of your support!

How can you Volunteer at the YWCA?

  • YWCA participates in a series of events throughout the year: info fairs, fundraisers, third party events, and more. These events help to raise awareness, educate the public, and raise funds.

What this role entails: you would be put on our special events list and notified when we’re in need of volunteers for an event. Each event and volunteer position for events is unique and will be outlined in the event notifications.

  • YWCA earns funds from OLG’s charitable gaming in bingo hals such as Delta Bingo in Niagara Falls and St. Catharines. Proceeds go to administrative and operational costs that allow the YW to provide essential services to the community.

What this role entails: attending a 2-hour volunteer shift at one of the two Delta Bingo locations. Providing information to guests if asked and helping staff where needed. That’s it!

  • To fuel our client’s success, YWCA is committed to providing nutritious and delicious meals to its residents. Staff and volunteers work together to serve regular, balanced meals for the St. Catharines and Niagara Falls shelters.

What this role entails: helping prepare/serve meals to our residents in emergency shelter.

  • YWCA has the privilege of collecting donations throughout the year from a variety of generous businesses, organizations, events and individuals. We rely heavily on donations of goods, services, and funds in order to house, feed, support, and empower women to be successful.

What this role entails: picking up donations from assigned community partner or delivering donation to one of our shelter locations. This can be a regular ongoing position or one-off shifts.

  • We are always looking for help to keep our shelters looking their best! In the warmer weather we need many helping hands for our properties.

What this role entails: help with yard work / gardening / tidying.
